How will circumcision affect sensation, sexual activity and recovery in my own situation?

After circumcision, the glans may feel less sensitive and skin movement is different, so sexual experience can change; a major long-term effect is not usually expected. Tightness or bleeding during erections can occur while the wound heals. These points should be discussed alongside the individual indication and the 4–6 week healing period. In adult circumcision, which skin will be removed, what happens to the frenulum, and is a limited option suitable?

The NHS describes circumcision for medical reasons, often after other treatment has failed or when it is the only option: recurrent balanitis, a tight foreskin that affects urination or erection, inability to retract the foreskin, or lichen-sclerosus scarring. The surgeon makes a circular incision below the glans, removes the foreskin and closes to the shaft with dissolvable stitches. If bleeding, infection or a wound problem appears after I return home, who follows it and which cost is whose?

After circumcision, the NHS advises same-day or emergency help if bleeding will not stop, urine cannot be passed, fever occurs, or the wound opens or is very painful.
